intervention specialist

The Autism Academy of Learning is currently accepting applications for licensed, Highly Qualified special education teachers who wish to work in a supportive year-round community school environment. Must be licensed currently as an Intervention Specialist in Ohio or be able to become licensed. Please email your resume for review.


Job Requirements

  • Report attendance of students to the office daily. Develop and submit to the Director of Education lesson plans and follow lesson plans based on individual student IEPs. 
  • Observe, monitor and document student academic performance and behavior to maintain a safe learning environment. 
  • Maintain classroom organization to ensure safety and facilitate effective instruction. 
  • Provide consistent classroom rules, discipline, activities and pacing to the classroom. 
  • Implement each student’s Behavior Plan as approved by the IEP team. 
  • Demonstrate an enthusiasm for non-traditional educational methods and a desire to work with children of diverse backgrounds. 
  • Administer state mandated tests. 
  • Enter data and display professionalism in the completion of IEPs. 
  • Assist and direct staff in helping all students in toileting and self help skills.
  • Prioritize goals and objectives to provide activities that are functional, appropriate and can be generalized into natural environments.
  • Attend staff meetings and scheduled teacher meetings. 
  • Possess basic computer knowledge and skills. 
  • Accept and perform other duties as assigned.

Schedule:

  • Monday to Friday 
  • No weekends

Experience:

  • Special education: 1 year (Preferred)
  • Childcare: 1 year (Preferred)

License/Certification:

  • BCI/FBI (Required)
  • Teacher License/Certification (Required)
